01Privacy and data
Who is responsible
The PicDunk app is published by Edouard Martin, a private individual and the data controller (see the legal notice). For any question about your data, write to contact@youklai.com.
Your photos stay with you
To work, PicDunk asks for access to your photo library through the standard iOS permission prompt. This access is used only to show and delete the photos you choose:
- showing your photos and videos as sheets of paper during the game;
- reading the technical information needed for sorting (date, media type, video duration, resolution and duration to estimate the size sent to the trash);
- deleting, when you tap “Empty the bin”, the photos you tossed.
All of this processing happens locally on your device. No photo, thumbnail, metadata or information about the content of your library is sent to the publisher or to anyone else. If a photo is stored in iCloud, iOS may download it from your own iCloud account to display it: that exchange is between your iPhone and Apple, and PicDunk does not see it. You can limit or revoke this access at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > PicDunk.
Deletion, precisely
During the game, a photo thrown in the bin is only marked for deletion: nothing is erased while you play, and the Undo button lets you take back a throw. At the end, you tap “Empty the bin” and iOS shows its own confirmation prompt: until you confirm, no photo is deleted. Deleted photos go to the “Recently Deleted” album in the Photos app, where you can usually recover them for 30 days (unless you empty that album, or in some cases where iOS needs to free up iCloud space). Storage is only actually freed once that album is emptied (by you, or automatically by iOS after 30 days). If you use iCloud Photos, the deletion also applies to your other devices, as iOS normally works.
The “Just play” mode uses plain paper balls: no photo is shown or deleted there.
What PicDunk keeps on your iPhone
PicDunk stores a little data only on your device (in the app's local storage):
- game statistics: photos deleted, space sent to the trash (estimated), scores, streaks, Rush record, Just play levels, rank, daily challenge and day streak;
- weekly statistics (for the “Your week” recap), badges earned and items unlocked in the Locker room;
- settings (music, sounds, haptics, battery saver, reminders).
This data is never sent online. It is erased if you delete the app.
The widget
So the Home Screen widget can display, PicDunk saves a small summary (rank, day streak, counters such as the space sent to the trash, daily challenge) in a container shared between the app and its widget, on your iPhone. This summary contains no photos and never leaves your device. It disappears if you delete the app.
Sharing
The “Share” button on the result screen or the weekly recap creates an image of your score on your iPhone. It is only sent if you pick a destination in the iOS share sheet, and the publisher receives nothing. The image contains none of your photos.
Reminders
If you agree, PicDunk schedules a few reminders on your iPhone (day streak, daily challenge, weekly recap). These are local notifications: no server sends them and nothing leaves your device. You can turn them off in the app's settings or in Settings > Notifications > PicDunk.
Game Center (optional)
If you are signed in to Game Center on your iPhone, PicDunk sends your scores and achievements there for leaderboards and achievements. This data is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; the publisher of PicDunk does not receive it. If you are not signed in, nothing is sent and the game works normally. You can sign out at any time in Settings > Game Center.
What we don't do
- No account, no email address, no phone number requested.
- No server: the publisher neither hosts nor receives any data about you.
- No analytics, no tracking, no ads in this version.
- No access to your location, contacts, microphone or camera.
- No selling or renting of data.
Data Apple may process
When you download PicDunk, Apple processes information related to your account under its own privacy policy. If you agreed to share diagnostics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may send us anonymized, aggregated crash reports that cannot identify you. The app may also offer to let you rate it on the App Store through Apple's standard system: this prompt is handled by iOS, which limits how often it appears, and the publisher receives no personal information.

How long
Local data stays on your iPhone as long as the app is installed. The publisher keeps nothing, since it receives nothing. Game Center data is kept by Apple under its own rules.
Where your data lives
On your device. The only exception: Game Center scores and achievements (at Apple, if you are signed in).
Your rights
Under the GDPR and the French Data Protection Act, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data, as well as the right to set instructions for what happens to your data after your death. Since the publisher holds no data about you, these rights are exercised directly on your device (iOS settings, deleting the app). For any question, write to contact@youklai.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France), or with the authority of your country.
Children
PicDunk collects no personal data and is suitable for all ages. Using Game Center and sharing images (Share button) are subject to the rules and parental controls of Apple and of the services you choose.
Changes to this page
This policy may change, especially when new features are added. The last-updated date is shown at the top of the page. If there is a significant change, we will let you know in the app.
02Terms of use
These terms of use govern your use of the PicDunk app. By using the app, you accept them. They supplement the App Store standard license agreement (Apple's EULA), which also applies.
What PicDunk is
PicDunk is a game that helps you sort your photo library: in an office, each photo appears as a sheet of paper that you can crumple and throw into the bin (to mark it for deletion) or keep. A “Just play” mode, with plain paper balls, also lets you play without touching your photos. The app is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases in the current version.
Your responsibility for your photos
You alone decide which photos you delete. Nothing is deleted during the game: at the end, you tap “Empty the bin”, iOS asks for its own confirmation, and the photos are then usually kept for 30 days in the “Recently Deleted” album. After that period, if you empty that album, or if iOS needs to free up iCloud space, the deletion is permanent. We recommend backing up your photo library regularly (iCloud, computer…). The publisher cannot recover a permanently deleted photo.
Game Center (optional)
PicDunk may use Apple's Game Center for leaderboards and achievements, only if you are signed in on your device. This service is provided by Apple and subject to its own terms and privacy policy. It is not required to play, and the publisher guarantees neither its availability nor the content of the leaderboards.
License
The publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use PicDunk on the Apple devices you own or control, as provided by the App Store. The app, its name, logo, graphics, sounds and code remain the property of the publisher. Copying, modifying, decompiling or redistributing them is prohibited, except where permitted by law.
Fair use
You agree to use PicDunk lawfully and not to try to disrupt it, bypass its protections or use it for anything other than personal purposes.
Liability and availability
PicDunk is provided “as is”. The publisher strives to keep it working properly but does not guarantee that it is free of bugs or compatible with every version of iOS. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damages, nor for the loss of photos resulting from a deletion you confirmed. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity applicable to digital content.
Changes to the service and these terms
The publisher may update the app, add or remove features, or change these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date. If you disagree with a change, you can stop using the app and delete it at any time.
Your data
How your data is handled is described in the Privacy and data section.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please write to us first at contact@youklai.com to find an amicable solution. Failing agreement, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers in their country of residence within the European Union.
This English version is provided for convenience. The French version is the reference text.

Frequently asked questions
Are my photos sent anywhere?
No. Everything happens on your iPhone. PicDunk has no server and no account, and it never uploads any photo.
I tossed a photo by mistake. How do I get it back?
During the game, nothing is deleted yet: tap Undo to take back your last throw, tap the photo on the end screen to fish it out of the bin, or decline the iOS confirmation after “Empty the bin”. If you already confirmed, open the Photos app > Albums > “Recently Deleted”, select the photo and tap “Recover”. It stays there for 30 days.
PicDunk doesn't see all my photos.
You may have granted limited access. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > PicDunk, then choose “Full Access” (or add photos to the selection).
Why doesn't my free space go up right away?
Deleted photos usually stay in “Recently Deleted” for 30 days and still take up space. To free the space immediately, empty that album in the Photos app.
Which game modes are there?
With “My gallery”: recent photos, screenshots, longest videos, or random (long videos are often the ones that free up the most space). Sessions of 10, 25 or 50 photos, your whole gallery, or a 60-second Rush. And “Just play” to throw paper balls without touching your photos.
Which languages is the app in?
PicDunk is available in English, French, Spanish, Italian, German and Brazilian Portuguese. The app follows your iPhone's language.
How do the Rush, ranks, daily challenge and badges work?
The 60-second Rush gives you one minute to score as many baskets as you can, with your record to beat. The more you clean up, the higher you climb through the office ranks. The daily challenge: completing it every day grows your day streak. And there are 12 badges to earn (SWISH, On fire…).
What is “Just play”?
A mode just for the fun of shooting: plain paper balls, without your photos, so nothing is deleted. Every 5 baskets the difficulty goes up (stronger wind, then a moving bin), with fireworks at each new level.
SWISH, BANK SHOT, ON FIRE: what are they?
A SWISH is the perfect shot that doesn't touch the rim, with slow motion and a camera dive. A BANK SHOT bounces off the wall before going in. And after 5 baskets in a row, you're ON FIRE.
How do I unlock bins and paper balls?
In the Locker room. New designs unlock as you score baskets: the more you play, the bigger the choice. Nothing to buy.
How do I add the widget?
On the Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area, tap “+” (or “Edit” > “Add Widget”), search for PicDunk and choose a size. It shows your rank, day streak, the estimate sent to the trash and the daily challenge. This information stays on your iPhone.
Is Game Center required?
No. If you are signed in to Game Center, your scores and achievements appear in Apple's leaderboards. Otherwise everything works the same, just without online leaderboards. To sign out: Settings > Game Center. This data is handled by Apple; the publisher does not receive it.
What is “Your week”?
A short weekly recap of your games and your cleanup. It is calculated and stored only on your iPhone.
My shots go off course!
It's the fan! Its wind curves your shots. Check the wind direction and strength, follow the aim guide that shows the start of the trajectory, and compensate by aiming slightly to the side.
How do I erase my statistics?
They are stored only on your iPhone (scores, streaks, record, rank, badges, Locker room, weekly recap, settings). Deleting the app erases them permanently. Scores already sent to Game Center, if you were signed in, are handled by Apple.
Deletion and assistance
PicDunk doesn't create an account, so there is nothing to delete on a server. To stop everything, simply delete the app from your iPhone.
